Easy One-Pot Hearty Chili

How do I make the perfect-tasting pot of chili every single time? Here’s my recipe:

Ingredients

  • 1 pound of ground beef – the fattier, the better tasting, but get what you want
  • 2 cans of kidney beans (light or dark – your choice) – drained
  • 6 oz can of tomato paste
  • 1 jar of salsa or picante sauce (either works, but picante seems to have more veg in it)
  • chili powder

Directions

In a large pot, brown the ground beef. Add drained kidney beans, tomato paste, and salsa to the pot and stir thoroughly. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and cover. Let simmer/cook for at least an hour until kidney beans are soft. Stir occasionally to avoid burning or scorching. Add chili powder to taste.

Serve hot in bowls with shredded cheese and/or sour cream. Add cayenne pepper to taste for spiciness.
